Typical Synopsis

A Social Life
A Social life is a short drama film that is about a women who lives through social media. This explores the issues and concerns that society has today with the continual effort and involve ness with the way he life is portrayed to other people on social media. In this short film we see her putting on her trainers and posting " Time to hit the road". This portrays a fit and healthy persona, where really she gets back into bed. This carries on and we see her getting ready for a date, doing her makeup and hair and putting on a tight dress. She posts a selfie and comments "Date Night". This again makes herself look social, and in a relationship. This problems is occuring more often as more people are getting more attached and obsessed with their phones and social media. I really like this short films as it is highlighting the issues of social media and making people aware. I will be exploring this idea for my short film as this has given me ideas and inspiration.

Empty
This short film is about a girl who is anorexic, in this short film we see as an audience her point of view and the way she copes with her day to day life. This has an interesting take as we see her talking and arguing and being forceful to her friend. We also see her friend being blunt and pressuring which is making matters worse. By the end we discover that her friend is actually voices in her head and they have become sp powerful that now she listens and believes them, like they are part of her. This is a really interesting approach and quite realistic for people who might be in this situation.

Alone Time
Is a drama about a women who lives a bleak and boring life in New York. This is represented by using greys, blacks and whites with simplistic furniture and rooms. By filming this in a big city everything looks dingy and dirty and the people have little to do with each other. To show this, there is no dialogue throughout this film to present the isolated lifestyle. She decides to have a break and go camping on her own for a couple of nights. The atmosphere automatically changes with bright greens and blues of the nature which mirrors her uplifted emotions- the scene is very picturesque.  We see her become happier and free as she is immersed in nature. However, the quick shot cuts back to reality were she is back in New York where it is cloudy, busy and noisy with sirens. The last scene ends with her sitting in a very plain room where she is looking back at the pictures she took from her trip. She flicks through her pictures when she gets to a picture of herself sleeping in her tent and then another close up of her face. The last shot ends with panic across of her face as she looks directly at the camera, implying that someone in the audience has stalked her.

Nadia

This short film is about educating people on a real occurring problem. This is about hopelessness and how common it is for young people. This is based on a true story about a girl who gets chucked out of her home and now sleeps on the street where it is cold and dangerous which in result effects her behaviour and attitude in school. I thought that this short film was effective as not only did it educate and reassure people who might be in similar positions but it also targeted the right age group, making it appropriate and interesting for teens, who are the age group that they are reaching out to. I will be using a similar idea of educating teens in my own short film.
